Standing up for Spelthorne

This election, we can change Spelthorne and our country for the better.

Meet Claire

I’m Claire Tighe and I’m standing to be Spelthorne’s next Labour MP.

I was born in Hammersmith and went to school in Ealing. My parents came from Ireland and worked in catering and construction, including building the roads around Heathrow. My Dad worked at Heathrow and many of my cousins still do to this day.

Serving as a Councillor, I see first-hand the devastating effect of the Conservative policies on families, the cost of living crisis and huge rises in mortgages.

I have worked with local businesses and community groups to strengthen their voice and raise issues that concern them. I am passionate about working with young people, making sure their voices are heard.

Every election is important, but every once in a while, an extraordinary election comes along and offers us the chance for change.

This election, we can change Spelthorne and our country for the better.

Your support is the only way we can make change happen.

So Vote Labour on Thursday 4 July.

Claire's pledges

Economic Stability

Labour will deliver economic stability to grow our economy and keep taxes, inflation and mortgages low. This will be to the benefit of families across Spelthorne.

Get the NHS back on its feet

Labour will cut Cut NHS waiting lists at Ashford and St Peter’s with more evening and weekend appointments, paid for by stopping tax avoidance and non-dom status exemptions

Tackle crime

Spelthorne needs more neighbourhood policing to crack down on all offences including anti-social behaviour, cyber crime and violence against women and girls.

A full-time MP

If given the honour to be elected your MP, I guarantee to be hands on and full-time, never taking other jobs but solely focused on Spelthorne. If elected, I will be 100% focused on the community with a constituency office, open to all and hosting regular surgeries.

Working with our young people to make Spelthorne a great place to grow up in:

No one can explain better what young people need better than young people themselves. I want to make sure the voices or young people across Spelthorne are heard. There are so many issues that are vitally important – from housing and mental health support, to tackling inequality and the climate emergency. Working together, I know we can drive change locally and make Spelthorne an even better place to grow up in.
